# Core Constraints & Philosophical Motivations

### Purpose

We exist to counter “the Glow.”  The Glow is a collective term for all systems that profit from compulsive attention, algorithmic manipulation, and false promises. We do not deny that belief or profit can exist; however, these must be freely chosen and participation must be fully understood.

### Core Conflict

“The Glow” is the entire system of influencer marketing, endless content loops, and extractive advertising. “The Flame” is our counter - finite, intentional, and requiring real-world action.

### Why We Use Influence Mechanics

Any system gathering people creates hierarchy and belief. We don’t hide this. Instead, we ensure these mechanics are explicit so they never trap the participant.

### Safeguards

- No forgotten consent - participation is chosen.
- No infinite loops - no endless scrolls. 
- No pure digital completion - reality matters. 
- No clout chasing no follower counts -  No identity capture. Roles are functional, not personal.


### Why Mystery Exists

We disclose that not all is revealed at once. This prevents optimization and extraction. Your deeper engagement is chosen, not manipulated.

### Physicality

The Flame requires presence. Bodies, objects, and our gatherings cannot be reduced to data points for status or clout.

### Implications

All mechanics, from tokens to tasks, follow these constraints. Nothing is designed to hypnotize or trick you.

### Experimentation 

The entire project is experimental in nature. There are no guarantees or promises, and likewise we do not make demands of our participants without performing our share of labor.

### Non-Goals

We do not aim for mass adoption or blind belief. We aim for informed, chosen participation.

### Summary
